Reno County Museum Endowment Fund

The preservation of Reno County history is vital to the growth of our community. Without knowing our roots, it’s hard for us to build a better future. The Reno County Museum’s mission is to collect, preserve, interpret and share Reno County history for future generations and we need your support. With your donation, you are securing the future of historic preservation and education. One of the ways you can support us is through the Reno County Museum Endowment Fund with the Hutchinson Community Foundation.

Having an organization endowment at Hutchinson Community Foundation symbolizes the nonprofit’s commitment to a long and thriving future. It provides long-term sustainability assuring the organization or individual donor that resources will be there in perpetuity. The power of endowment allows for more confident planning for the future and keeps the hope of even greater accomplishments alive.

Volunteer Opportunities with Reno County Museum

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are vital to our success and fulfilling our mission. Discover how you can help.

Events
Volunteers are needed at each event to deliver an amazing guest experience. Volunteers help in many ways including distributing materials, setup and tear down, gift shop and front desk, food and beverage, and more.

Collections Care
Volunteers to preserve and protect the artifacts (photographs, objects, clothing, books, documents, etc.) donated by current and former Reno County residents, their families, and the public.

Gift Shop
The Gift Shop is located in the Museum lobby and volunteers welcome guests to the Museum and thank them for their visit. These volunteers are often the first people our guests see when they enter the Museum. Gift Shop volunteers support the guest experience by recommending souvenirs and other memorabilia about the Reno County Museum, Kansas, and Reno County. Some duties include tracking attendance, tagging and stocking items, and keeping the gift shop clean.

Office
Volunteers with computer literacy, organization skills and attention to detail will assist with mailings, data entry, and other general office duties for both the administrative department and the archives. This is a great way to be involved behind-the-scenes.

All our volunteers sign up through the Volunteer Center. Please Contact the Volunteer Center if you are interested in volunteering with the Reno County Museum.
