The
Museum’s newest offering, the Oodleplex, opened in early 2004 as an interactive,
two-way learning center for children aged two to 12 years. Designed to develop
cognitive skills and provide recreational activities at the same time, the
Oodleplex is an opportunity for kids to learn outside the traditional classroom
setting. The center offers various “experience platforms,” including a hands-on
puppet theater, one-room schoolhouse, general store, costume shop, computer
station, model train, full-scale boat, and much more. Offering energy-burning
educational activities for younger kids, the
Oodleplex gives a greater understanding of the world we live in, an appreciation
of our cultural heritage, and instills a healthy habit of visiting museums as a
life-long learning process.
